Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is used to alleviate pain and improve mobility by targeting the fascia. This can be accomplished manually, or with instruments. Sometimes it is referred to as soft tissue scraping or IASTM. The goal of myofascial release is to release tension and restrictions within the fascia, which can occur due to trauma, inflammation, or poor posture.

What is myofascial relase?

During a myofascial release session, the doctor or therapist will apply gentle pressure and sustained stretching to the affected areas of the body. This pressure helps to release adhesions or knots within the fascia, allowing for improved blood flow and the restoration of normal movement patterns.
