Ultrasound Therapy

IMG_8952

Ultrasound utilizes sound waves produced by a piezoelectric crystal. It is much like dropping a stone in a pond and seeing the water ripple in a circle away from the point the stone hit the water. The sound wand used by the carefully trained chiropractic assistant does the same thing with sound waves. We use a non-allergenic water based gel applied to the skin as a conductor- so the sound waves will be directed into the soft tissues that the doctor has prescribed the ultrasound should be applied to. This therapy should not be painful and, in fact, should be very relaxing. It is used for both acute and chronic conditions and can be effective at helping conditions such as:

Arthritis

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Tendinitis

Sprains and Strains

Muscle Spasms

Areas of Chronic Inflammation
