Electrical Stimulation

Electrical Stimulation

Here at Price Chiropractic Center, we use two types of electrical stimulation, depending on the needs of our patients. Sometimes we use  high-voltage galvanic stimulation (HVG) or microcurrent electrical neuromuscular stimulation (MENS).

HVG and MENS utilize very gentle and safe electrical currents to decrease soft tissue swelling, decrease muscular spasming, decrease soft tissue pain, and promote healing of injured or damaged tissues. If either of these specific therapies will be beneficial in your rehabilitation, specially trained chiropractic assistants will safely and gently apply the chosen stimulation to the areas prescribed by the doctor.

Both therapies are very safe and not a painful at all. In HVG, the gentle electric current is nothing like “getting shocked”. It is a relaxing sensation that can feel like a gentle massage or gentle tingling sensation. MENS, on the other hand, is absolutely unnoticeable while preformed, causing no discomfort.  If you have any questions or concerns about either therapy, please ask us so that we can answer any of those questions. We always want you to feel completely comfortable with any treatment we provide for your condition.
